The viscous texture envelops peach, apple and almond notes, with a lemony acidity driving it all. It's linear and mouthwatering. Drink now. - WS88
For the Broglia, company this is the most representative and classical of our production and for this reason it carries on its label the name of the Estate: La Meirana. Production of La Meirana takes place in large stainless steel tanks which are temperature controlled. Fermentation occurs between 12° and 16°C with the aim of maintaining a fresh fragrance and fruitiness. Organic analysis indicates that La Meirana expresses exceptional characteristics of the area of Gavi with a typical aftertaste of almonds. Best served with fish based dishes and white meats. - Winemaker's Notes
Gavi is the most revered white of Piedmont, indeed of all Italy, and is made from Cortese, an indigenous variety recognisable by its delicate herb and apple aromas. As with many of Italy's classic wines, the best are from the heart of the region - in this case Gavi di Gavi. Villa Broglia's wines were served at the Vatican to mark the 25th anniversary of Pope John Paul II, as well as for state banquets at Italian embassies.
