The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy offers up a site-typical bouquet of mandarin, honeyed Meyer lemons and flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, expansive and open-knit palate that's delicately fleshy and nicely defined, concluding with a saline finish. This is a blend of lieux-dits Beauroy and Troesmes. Drink:2019~2025 - WA89
Full and Rounded. Pale gold in colour, a limpid and brilliant wine. Opens with a beautiful complex palette of fresh fruits accompanied by floral / vegetal touches and a slight mineral reduction. On aeration, a note of fresh almond completes the presentation. Persistent. Beautifully mouth-wateringly mineral with slightly vanilla white fruits. Elegant finish. Pleasantly expressive Chablis 1er Cru. - Winemaker's Notes
La Chablisiènne is actually a collection of growers under the form of a cooperative that was founded in 1923. It is an enormous operation, indeed so large that they now reportedly vinify and market between 25 and 33% of all the wine made in Chablis; a remarkable volume that is now approaching one million cases according to the director of marketing Hervé Tucki.
