Here the nose is at once more elegant and more complex with its pretty mix of plum, violet, red pinot and a hint of tea. The supple and refined medium-bodied flavors possess good delineation while delivering a subtle trace of minerality on the youthfully austere and balanced finale.- BH88~90
Hubert Lignier is a family-owned domaine in Burgundy, producing both red and wines. The estate is located in Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits and is best known for its Pinot Noir wines from the grand cru vineyard Clos de la Roche. It is owned and run by the father-son duo Hubert and Laurent Lignier.
The estate is made up of around 9 hectares (22 acres) of vineyard land that ranges from the basic Bourgogne appellation to grand cru. Vineyard holdings are primarily located in the villages of Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Chambolle-Musigny, with newer vineyards acquired in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Pommard.
Pinot Noir is the primary grape variety produced by the domaine, but Chardonnay, Gamay, and Aligoté are also included in the portfolio. Hubert Lignier practices traditional methods in the vineyard to showcase the terroir of each appellation, but practices interventionalist methods for vinification. Wines are left to age for 20-22 months in barrel, and are left unracked and on the lees after malolactic fermentation. Hubert Lignier wines are bottled without fining. - Information from Wine Searcher
