The 2005 Barolo Big 'd Big shows lovely depth and is a decidedly forward expression of Nebbiolo defined by dark cherries, flowers, licorice. This deceptively medium-bodied Barolo offers notable freshness and length, with substantial tannins that will require patience. The Big is very typical of this vintage in that it is built on a solid core of fruit and acidity rather than the explosive, multi-dimensional qualities of the 2004s.
