Firm and structured, this is a dark still-young wine. With a strong tannic core, it is concentrated, the black fruits are firmly in the throes of the tannins. Give this impressively serious second wine of Haut-Brion time. Drink from 2022. - WE92
The 2014 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion, you could argue, has a more engaging bouquet vis-à-vis the La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion, a scintilla more mineralité and tension demonstrated in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, vibrant wild strawberry and blackcurrant fruit intermingling with white pepper, bay leaf and cedar. There is admirable persistence in the mouth suggesting that it will offer 12-15 years drinking pleasure. This is very fine. Drink: 2019~2032 - WA91
Shows a range of singed juniper, tobacco, game, steeped currant and crushed cherry aromas and flavors, yet remains silky and refined in feel through the alluring, incense-infused finish. Approachable, but there's no rush. Best from 2018 through 2024. - WS91
Château Haut-Brion is the oldest and by far the smallest of the "Premiers Grands Crus" vineyards of the Gironde 1855 classification. Château Haut-Brion is one of the few remaining family-owned domains of the Bordeaux region with a history going back to the 16th century. It has been owned by the American Dillon family since 1935.
