An attractively fresh if decidedly restrained nose displays an abundance of floral influences to the softly spiced range of mostly red berry scents. The supple, delicious and enveloping big-bodied flavors brim with dry extract that still only manages to partially buffer the exceptionally firm tannic spine shaping the serious, powerful and very austere finale. This too is going to require extended patience before it is completely ready. Drink: 2038+ - BH92-94
Bruno Clair, founded the domaine which bears his name in 1979. The domaine at that time included plots in Marsannay and Fixin, the Dominode vineyard in Savigny-les-Beaune, and a large plot lying fallow in Morey-St.-Denis – “En la Rue de Vergy”. Bruno Clair also maintains a rigorous selection of the best vines of pinot noir and chardonnay, identifying those that produce small grapes with perfect ripeness. This selection also concentrates on finding vines that have a good resistance to diseases and are free from viruses.
