Initiated in the 1950s by René POITEVIN, in parallel with the bakery and other agricultural activities, this small family property of 2 hectares in AOC Médoc has developed gradually. Like his father, Georges took over the business and cultivated the vines with passion, then entrusted his harvest to the local cooperative cellar.
In 1991, after theoretical and practical training in the fields of viticulture and oenology in Bordeaux, Guillaume POITEVIN will follow in the footsteps of his winegrower father and grandfather, and will decide to grow the property by vinifying its wines. on the property. Driven by passion and determination, he created several cuvées, including Château Poitevin. His philosophy is to produce wines with a real signature, a balance between modernity and respect for tradition.
Mobilized in a process of promoting quality Bordeaux wines, the Poitevin Vineyards have joined the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Médoc.
In 2012, Château Poitevin won the Coupe des Crus Bourgeois; a reward that crowns twenty years of work. In 2018, we obtained the additional mention Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, which rewards the quality of our wines, but also of our welcome.
