Second Wine of Chateau Figeau
This wine is ripe and structured. With the high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon (48%), typical of Figeac, the black-currant fruit and pure, clean acidity shine through. As a second wine, it is soft, the tannins likely to develop quickly. Drink from 2022. - WE92
This delivers a delicious bolt of cassis, along with accents of cherry and plum preserves, backed by brambly grip and a roasted apple wood note. Still on the accessible side, and should be a solid drink while the big boys mature. Best from 2019 through 2027. - WS91
Composed of 32% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Petit Figeac reveals notes of warm cherries, red currant jelly, aniseed and forest floor with touches of wild blueberries and blackberries. Medium-bodied, very finely crafted, elegant and refreshing, it fills the mouth with open-knit red and black fruits, finishing with a velvety texture paving the way. - WA91
