In Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits and the Climats du Vignoble de Bourgogne classified as World Heritage, the DUFOULEUR family passionately perpetuates the heritage of several centuries of wine-growing tradition.
Our family can trace its ancestors back to the end of the 16th century, shortly after the total destruction of the town of “Nuiz” and its records by the armies of Duke Casimir.
This is how Gilles Dufouleur, born on the penultimate day of January 1596, is considered the first of a family line that has remained faithful to the town of Nuits since that date.
This name DUFOULEUR undoubtedly comes from the profession of grape crusher which existed from antiquity until the dawn of the 20th century before it was replaced by more modern approaches to winemaking.
